so here you go… chuck norris

You might know we pull a lot of restaurants. What’s a pull? Well it’s our lingo for when we “pull” a restaurant and that’s how the miracle of used restaurant equipment makes it to the Frog. So here’s the thing, you knew it didn’t magically arrive at the Frog. Our Star Trek materialization skills aren’t that great either, so while it takes you mortal restauranteurs a few weeks or months to put together a bar, grill or restaurant, it takes us Froggers just a few hours to “pull” the entire place.

So not too long ago, well a while ago we pulled one of the top sushi restaurants in the nation- yes, sadly Rengetsu came to the Frog as it had seen it’s day.

Anyhoo, so we’re at Rengetsu working crazy hours- I think way too many 16 hour days thanks to our foreman… uhmmm yeah and something like I had eight or nine stitches in the arm thanks to some steel rebar and now they’re trying to say no computer nerd girls on the job site… but that is story for another post on our One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment blog.

So around 10 at nite we got punch drunk from so much fun- ain’t nothing like find calamari aka squid aka octopus that’s been a locked up Florida room temperature walk in cooler for say over 30 days… the aroma is … anything but refreshing.

The Restaurant Equipment Doctor is telling Chuck Norris jokes and I have a few emailed to my iphone and start quoting them. We manage to pull the hood- good times I tell you, good times!- and our new dubbed … well what is he dubbed? anyhoo one of the guys who is yet to be named says after we are all about to fall over, Chuck Norris ain’t got nothing on us!

and so it seems Frog history is re-written… Chuck Norris ain’t got nothing on us…

and prepare for sushi equipment, smallwares galore for sale! I’m talking tons, some vintage…

next up, a super Rengetsu story about the time on I-Drive

One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment

Why buy from One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment?

Buying used restaurant equipment can be a daunting task. What’s important is finding a dealer who has a good reputation and makes you feel comfortable from the get-go.  If you feel like you’re sitting down with a used car salesman who sells snake oil on the side, then likely you are.  If you feel like the person is honest and reliable then likely they are.  Look around, is their business organized, clean and when you’re looking on eBay ask- do they have a brick and mortar store?  It’s easy to say you have a used restaurant equipment business and run it out of your garage, but sooner than later folks will recognize the pictures online and realize that they’re taken in your backyard and in your garage.  How can you test three phase?  How can you know about the equipment that you sell?

Are they too big to answer their own phone?  Will they know who you are when you come back or will you have a rotating staff of sales who changes according to the week?

Ask if the company represents new lines, too. Manufacturer’s are slow to allow companies to represent them and they require documentation from Dunn and Bradstreet, a brick and mortar store and documentation that it’s not a start-up business.  These are all key elements.

Ask if the company has a service technician.  Do they repair and test items that come in?  Can they send a tech to the field?

Know the terms of the sale. Most used equipment dealers sell as is.  This is simply an industry standard.  You can find folks who say they “guarantee” it, but the fine print says they only replace parts or they only guarantee it will not arrive DOA or they have greatly compensated in the price.  Really, a lot of the equipment can be fixed reasonably and is not worth an extra $1000- tag on price for that used guarantee.   Ask if you can come see the equipment running before you purchase it.  Legitimate companies should have no problem offering this.

So whether you’re looking for great new and used restaurant equipment in Central Florida (Orlando, Altamonte Springs, Oviedo, Geneva, Deland, Debary, Deltona, Sanford, Lake Mary, Winter Springs, Winter Park, Ocoee, Tampa, Winter Garden, Kissimmee, Palm Bay, Lake County, Tavares, Eustis, Leesburg) or nationwide, now is the time to look at One Fat Frog Commercial and Restaurant Equipment.  You are ALWAYS welcome to preview any item you see on ebay- call us and make an appointment so we can have it set up for you.

      • mushrooms
      • olives
      • etc.
    • How is it similar to any other commercial food setup?
      • If you’ve ever been through a Subway sub shop you will have seen a variation on this in their line.
