The American Culinary Federation Gives Back to the Community

One of the mottos we love repeating at One Fat Frog Restaurant Equipment is “It’s not just about stainless steel.” This saying expresses our focus on the people who we feed because of selling restaurant equipment, not the money we make.

Here’s a great example of what One Fat Frog is talking about. On Saturday, September 24, 2011, several organizations and students came out to help feed the needy at the Christian Care Center in Leesburg, FL. Chefs from the American Culinary Federation (ACF) were joined by folks from the Gulf to Lakes Chefs & Cooks Association, and local students from Eustis (EHS), and Leesburg High School (LHS). These selfless people, who go to school full time during the week, gave up their Saturday to help feed the less fortunate people in their community.

The students were led by Chefs John Bell, Matthew Dennis, Nicole Austin, Laurie Denniss, Cindy McVeigh, and Meghan Teachout-Coffee. The students will be making another charity trip to Leeburg’s Christian Care Center on Saturday October 15, 2011. These events are put together by Chefs Helping Chefs, LLC. This organization specializes in educating students in food safety and training for the hospitality industry. This was their fifth event at the Christian Care Center this year! Great job!
